In a rare win for privacy, we get the following from Ars Technica: 5th Circuit rules geofence warrants illegal in win for phone users’ privacy
A federal appeals court ruled on Friday that geofence warrants, which are used to identify all users or devices in a geographic area, are prohibited by the Fourth Amendment's protection against unreasonable searches.
The ruling was issued by the US Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit
How can the .gov survive if they can't indiscriminately round up people they don't like? I expect the feds, if no one else, will appeal to SCOTUS.
