Professor David Yamane at Gun Culture 2.0 has released a Complete Set of Recordings of Free Public Webinar on Ten Essential Observations on Guns in America
If you are not reading Professor Yamane's work and watching his video content, you should be.
This past spring, I offered a free public webinar version of my Sociology of Guns seminar at Wake Forest University. I’m now making full recordings (presentation plus Q∓A) of each session available on my Light Over Heat YouTube channel. Following are links to all 7 sessions of the webinar.
The videos are mostly an hour and a half, with one closer to an hour and two coming in at about an hour and 15 minutes. You can't watch them all at once. I find Professor Yamane's take on Gun Culture to be interesting. And how many college professors are there who don't actively hate gun owners?
The videos are as follows:
- Module 1 (from March 25): Guns are Normal, Normal People Use Guns
- Module 2 (from April 1): Gun Culture 2.0
- Module 3 (from April 8): The Concealed Carry Revolution
- Module 4 (April 22): Defensive Gun Use and The Standard Model of the Irrationality of Defensive Gun Ownership
- Module 5 (April 29): Criminal Defensive Gun Ownership and Illegal Gun Markets
- Module 6 (May 13): Gun Violence and Prevention Strategies
- Module 7 (May 22): Conclusions Regarding Guns and Gun Culture
Click thru to watch the videos. And buy the Professor a coffee, because his work is worth supporting! (The link for that is at the bottom of the linked post above.)
