It really does seem to be catching on. Chicago shooting: Concealed-carry license holder shoots 3 men while being attacked outside Belmont Cragin home, police say - ABC7 Chicago
This is another case that illustrates the fact that people you know can be a threat. He knew these 3 guys. They attacked him. The gun-hating part of the Left loves to go on about how if you own a firearm, you are more likely to shoot someone you know. The implication is that people you know could never be a threat. Wrong.
Belmont Cragin is one of the 77 neighborhoods in Chicago. It is on the NW side of the city about 5 or 10 miles from downtown.
The 43-year-old male victim was arguing with three men who he knew when police said the men attacked him. [SNIP]
According to police, the victim pulled out a handgun and fired it, striking all three alleged attackers. The homeowner is a concealed-to-carry license holder.
According to the homeowner's cousin, they were attempting to get into his house. Cops either don't know, or haven't said what the argument was about, or why they wanted in the house.
One of the bad guys received multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, another was shot once in the chest, and the third was wounded in the neck. The homeowner suffered blunt force trauma. All four people were taken to various hospitals in critical condition.
Self-defense is a human-right. It might be your legal right in Chicago, though I'm not sure how much I would trust to that. See my post from yesterday: Concealed Carry Stops Carjacking in Chicago
