This case made no sense when it happened, and it still makes no sense. Especially for Texas. Texas mom who fatally shot teenager breaking in through daughter’s window won’t be charged
A mom shoots an intruder who was in the process of climbing through her daughter's window. The intruder turned out to be 14 years old, but she didn't know that at the time. She only knew she was faced with an intruder.
This incident took place in Tarrant County, Texas. The county seat for that county is Fort Worth. So not deep blue, certainly.
While I am not a lawyer, it is my understanding that every homicide in Texas must be presented to a grand jury. In this case the grand jury returned a no bill decision.
Meaning they didn’t find enough evidence to charge her with a crime over the shooting.
The thing that didn't make sense was that she was threatened with eviction. Well, it makes sense when you consider how hostile the government is to your rights.
Wallace previously defended her actions to FOX 4, while facing eviction for allegedly violating the apartment’s rules that guns aren't allowed in government-subsidized housing.
A Texas lawyer took up her case on the eviction, pro bono, and a Texas representative took up her cause, so the eviction was dropped. (Don't want to get a court ruling on your unconstitutional gun restricted leases!) She and her daughters have since moved.
Self Defense is a human right, and your legal right in Texas, even if you are poor.
