Don't Bring a Hammer to a Gunfight - Part 2

That is the second time in two days I've been able to use that headline. Man arrested for burglary and kidnapping after getting shot in the leg in Spokane

[Spokane County Sheriff's Office (SCSO)] said the caller told police that 42-year-old Nicholas S. Taylor walked into the home she was staying at with a hammer. She said she was grabbed by the arm as Taylor tried to force her to leave with him.

The caller broke free from Taylor, who SCSO said was still armed with a hammer. Another person in the home shot Taylor in the leg, and he fled the scene in his car.

Shortly after that a 911 call was made for a guy with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital, and then to county lockup.

The booking paperwork includes "first-degree burglary, second-degree kidnapping, second-degree assault, and violation of a protection order with assault charges."

The woman and the person doing the shooting were not charged, because while Washington may be a Deep Blue state, it has a long tradition of protecting the right of self defense.
