Citizens in Hartford Are Taking Action Against Crime

How bad is it when people in Connecticut are taking up arms? Leftists are having kittens over the fact that a Bishop from a black church, in a blue city, is organizing armed patrols in his neighborhood to combat crime. Armed neighborhood watch set to begin in Hartford’s north end.

Burke said prayers and vigils are not curbing crime and this armed neighborhood watch would help deter criminals from acting out.

Groups like Mothers United Against Violence do not think it’s a good idea and will only bring more trauma into the city.

My take is that Mothers United doesn't really care about crime in a black neighborhood in Hartford. They care that their "all guns are bad" message will be tarnished.

The mayor is apparently afraid of being blamed for the crime, but also doesn't like legally owned guns. This is Deep Blue Connecticut, after all. He wants neighborhood patrols that unarmed. Lots of good that will do. They can call 911, but that isn't working too well in Hartford.

The city of Hartford doesn't publish its statistics anywhere, or not anywhere that is easy to find anyway. I did find stats comparing 2018 to 2020 (how do you spell "Defund the Police?") 911 response times. State Reports Show EMS Response Times Double

The state collects information from EMS agencies across Connecticut. NBC Connecticut Investigates took a look into annual reports from 2018 and 2020. The average response time for emergency calls has gone up, way up, according to the state’s own report.

So calling 911 in Hartford is not the miracle, save-everyone system that the Left would have you believe. A lot of bad things can happen in 16 minutes.

The hat tip for this goes to Liberty Doll, and her video Citizens Start Armed Patrols.

You know things are bad if folks in CONNECTICUT have decided to take up arms to defend their neighborhood.

Here is the video, it is a bit longer than 7 minutes.
