As the state (or in this case the city) loses its ability to provide order, people will defend themselves. Philadelphia shooting: Would-be carjacker killed in apparent case of self-defense, police say
According to police, the deceased was one of two individuals who attempted to carjack a 38-year-old man in the former United Artist Theater parking lot.
The victim pulled a weapon and shot one of the would-be carjackers in what police say looks like a case of self-defense.
Cops briefly detained the shooter, but he was released.
There are some comments by people who live in the area, including one person who said she has called police about illegal activity, mostly drugs, in the area, but she hasn't gotten much response from the police.
Self-defense is a human-right. It seems that the good people of Philadelphia are losing faith in The System™ to control crime. Given that the system isn't controlling crime, it is hard to fault them.
