The Message doesn't replace good story telling. Hollywood has forgotten that. Just like they forgot that special effects don't replace story telling. A lesson they learned in the 1990s, and then forgot in after 2015.
Failure is not an option for a Mary Sue.
Characters that can never fail, face no crisis. There are no stakes, when nothing is at stake. Plot armor is not a substitute for plot. Mary Sue is a boring character. And all of them are dying at the box office.
