Every once in a while I find a modern band that sounds like it would have been at home on the 1970s or '80s top 40 radio stations. Girish And The Chronicles is such a band. Straight forward Rock & Roll, with at least a short guitar solo in most songs. Well, in all of the songs I've heard anyway, which I grant you is not many. You don't hear GATC unless you go looking.
GATC is from Gangtok, the capital of the northeastern Indian state of Sikkim, in the eastern Himalayan range. They sound like they could be from Boston.
The first time I heard this song, I thought something about it reminded me of Aerosmith. (Hence the Boston, Mass. reference.) I'm not sure I hear that today, but there may be a little of it in how Girish Pradhan sings and the way Suraz Sun plays his guitar.
I don't like everything I've heard from them, but then I rarely like everything an artist or a band creates. But I like enough of their music to go looking for more.
This song is "Lovers' Train" by Girish And The Chronicles from the 2022 album Hail To The Heroes
