How Should an Elderly, Handicapped Person Deal With an Assault?

Without a firearm, that is. I really wish the anti-gun crowd would say. Maybe he should "run away." That is often what they say. Right before they tell you to count on the police to save you. Police: Bridgeport man shot by elderly handicapped person

Police say an elderly handicapped person shot and critically injured a Bridgeport man.

Police say Akiem Thomas, 33, was shot by the man in self-defense at a home on Hollister Avenue on [17 December].

Without the means of self-defense, the old and the infirm would be at the mercy of the young and the violent.

Police clearly view this as justified, and the courts are holding the guy who got shot on $750,000 bond. He was still in the hospital just before Christmas.
