Concealed Carry in Chicago

It didn't prevent injury, but it might have saved his life. 1 dead, 2 wounded in shooting overnight involving conceal carry holder on West Side, cops say

A preliminary investigation revealed a 31-year-old man was outside when he was approached by two people inside of a vehicle who got out with firearms and opened fire at him. The man who is a concealed carry holder fired back, striking them both but suffered a wound to the torso. He was taken in fair condition to Stroger Hospital. police said.

In a better world, the aggressor, who was injured, would be held on attempted murder charges, but this being Chicago, I doubt that will happen. And felony murder is not a thing in Illinois. Holding him responsible for the death of his accomplice? That isn't fair. Or something.

Given the way the cops are reporting what happened, it will be hard for the State's Attorney for Cook County to charge the defender, but the State's Attorney for Cook County has been known to do some crazy things.

Self-defense is a human-right.
