Not so well if you count the victims. Daughter blasts NYC courts for bungling case against mom's killer: 'A f---ing slap in the face'
Lenue Moore had been arrested for breaking into a home, and attacking the residents with a hammer. One person had an arm broken, two were struck in the head. She was released on $5,000 bond.
But Moore, 31, was cut loose on a measly bail in the violent incident — and allegedly returned to the neighborhood some five months later, gunning down Jackie Billini, her friend and her pitbull, Zeus, in what police said was a long-running spat over the dog.
Now of course she will likely be held without bail. But violent criminals actually have to kill someone to be taken off the street.
The people in New York who championed bail reform have blood on their hands. This person was clearly violent, and clearly a threat.
