Sam Cooke was one of the many artists who died too young. You know his music, even if you don't know his name, though how you could not know his name is beyond me. He brought us "Chain Gang" and "Twistin' the Night Away" and more. And today's song.
It hit #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, though that is a bit before my time. I probably first came to know the Cat Stevens 1974 cover of the song that hit #6 on the charts. That meant it would have been on the Top 40 stations a lot.
