A 16 year old died after being stabbed in a "dispute between rival groups."

[18-year-old Egypt Otis] is the 20th person accused of shooting, killing, or trying to shoot or kill someone in Chicago this year while awaiting trial for a felony. The cases involve at least 33 victims, ten of whom died.

CWBChicago started keeping score because the powers that be refuse to acknowledge that their policies are not good.

CWBChicago began our series of reports in November 2019 after Cook County Chief Judge Timothy Evans publicly stated, “We haven’t had any horrible incidents occur” under the court’s bond reform initiative.

Illinois has since made that initiative the law, eliminating most cash bail.
