The writing at Disney/Marvel is horrible. They are not just writing crap today, they are retroactively destroying characters. They did it with Roadie in Secret Invasion. They are doing it to Loki in the show Loki.
It is part and parcel of what Disney is doing to everything. They can't write decent stories, so they will destroy what came before, because they can't stand the thought that what came before was better than what they can do. That sums up Rachel Zegler's view of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, it sort of describes what they did with The Little Mermaid. It is definitely what they are doing to both Star Wars and the MCU.
