Electronic Monitoring Doesn't Seem to Work Very Well

Not in Chicago, anyway. Man charged with 5 North Side robberies was supposed to be on electronic monitoring for Class X felony gun case: court records - CWB Chicago

The man Chicago police say committed five armed robberies in two days in West Ridge was supposed to be on electronic monitoring for a Class X felony gun charge, according to court records. A judge issued an escape warrant for Safaeldin Daheya, 22, when he failed to appear in court last week.

Now, he’s accused of robbing five men during two nighttime waves on Tuesday and Wednesday.

He was on electronic monitoring because keeping violent criminals in jail is unfair, and this guy has a history of armed robber, so categorizing him as violent probably is warranted.

I don't expect anything to change in Chicago, except that levels of crime will get worse.
