Tasteless? Certainly. But it points again to the completely biased nature of what passes for journalism in the 21st Century.
My irreverent (some would say tasteless) sense of humor routinely got me in trouble during my school days, but you may be shocked to learn that mine was not the worst take on this deep-sea catastrophe.
The New Republic took time to comment on the political affiliations of the OceanGate CEO, now deceased.
MSNBC's "legal analyst" Elie Mystal decided to make jokes about it. Though aimed more at SCOTUS justices he doesn't like.
Both of these can be summed up as "Professional Journalism." They are not trying to be objective or even hide their bias; they are reveling in their bias.
