Chicago's new Mayor Brandon Johnson tells his critics to Shut Up. Chicago Police Supt. says department is working to ‘analyze' how crime in the city has shifted
New mayor "Let's Go Brandon" Johnson, and interim Police Superintendent Fred Waller, have a crime problem. (Also a finance problem, but that is story for another day.)
So what does Brandon Johnson have to say? You can't criticize Chicago. Not even if your tax dollars are going to support the city's (bankrupt) pensions.
“If we’re gonna have a society that we all can be proud of and a society we can raise our families in, it’s gonna take all of us. No one can sit on the sidelines. And let me make this emphatically clear: If you don’t live in Chicago, you don’t have a right to talk about the city of Chicago.”
My answer to Mayor BS Johnson... Well, I won't commit it to the internet. (But this story, and others may be a clue.)
While we're on the subject of Chicago... HeyJackass! gets the hat tip with Don’t Demonize Weekend.
Brandon says, “If you don’t live in Chicago, you don’t have a right to talk about the city of Chicago.” Therefore was ask that you do NOT speak, discuss, chit-chat, voice, yammer, publicize, proclaim, broadcast, post, tweet or share any of the following unless you live within the city limits. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
The other idiotic thing Brandon Johnson said was that you should not "demonize" the kids who were causing mayhem in Chicago a few weekends back. Attacking people randomly on the street, because they didn't have midnight basketball, or some other program to divert their energy. You know, I grew up in a small town, where there was occasionally nothing whatsoever to do. I never remember groups of teenagers running through the town randomly attacking people. That might have been because we were taught the difference between right and wrong.
