I saw online (Washington Times) that with the wonderful EPA Dishwasher rules, "consumers would save $17 annually on energy and water costs for a standard-size dishwasher and it would make up for the likely higher cost of the appliance in 2.4 years." $17 per year spread between energy and water costs! A whole $1.42 a month! And the difference in price will be made up in 2.4 years or $40.80.

    There's just so much competition for "the dumbest thing I've ever heard" that I don't want to call it that, but why on Earth would they go to this effort for such a small return?
