He suffered a failure of the victim-selection process. Gwinnett homeowner shot by home invaders shoots, kills suspect
Gwinnett County, Georgia is just to the northeast of Atlanta. The county line is at most a couple of miles from the I-285 beltway that runs around that city.
A homeowner traded shots with a home invader. The homeowner drove himself to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, where he spoke to police.
The victim said there was someone else shot at the home. Police went to the home, where they found Leon Summers, of Stone Mountain, dead.
Detectives said they believe the victim shot Summers in self-defense.
The police don't make determinations of charges, but Georgia has a history of recognizing the legal right to defend yourself. And self-defense is a human-right, no matter what any state may or may not believe.
