Ezra Miller is Why I'm Done with Mainstream Comics and Movies they Spawn

Hollywood is completely insane. Gina Carano lost her career over a tweet. (Yes, I know that was Disney - it is all Hollywood.) Ezra Miller has been arrested, in the presence of video evidence, for felony burglary and second degree assault. He has a career and Gina Carano doesn't.

When you add these up—the assaults against women, the restraining orders, the alleged grooming and strange behavior around children, the guns and the death threats, you paint a portrait of someone who—in their own words—has “complex mental health issues” and who clearly does need help and empathy. Given that most of these incidents took place in 2022, I have a hard time understanding how the actor can possibly be rehabilitated in time to continue as Barry Allen. [SNIP]

What about the people who would be required to work with Miller on the set of future DC films? The cast and crew? The women and children potentially involved? Other actors have been excommunicated from Hollywood for simply saying the wrong thing, but here we have someone who has crossed nearly every line, placing people in real danger and engaging in real violence. This isn’t about cancelling someone forever over some wrong-think, either. In time, with enough help and progress, I hope that Miller can return to acting and their career. But this won’t happen overnight.

Gina Carano is only one example of a Hollywood personality canceled for Wrong Think. There are others who were canceled for unproven accusations, lacking in criminal charges. Johnny Depp was canceled for an accusation, and only brought back into the fold after he won his defamation lawsuit. Ezra Miller gets a pass on actually bad behavior.

Yet Miller can do all of the things detailed in the linked article, and DC is still "open to working with him" in the future. They suck, and will get zero dollars from me for anything they do moving forward. They won't bring back Henry Cavill Superman. They won't have Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. They will give another chance to Ezra Miller as The Flash.

People have said that there is an excuse; "They have a multi-hundred million dollar movie in the works." So, are there any limits to what he could do? Could he rape someone and they wouldn't cancel him? What are the limits that Hollywood has? I know what my limits are.

I usually want people to succeed at whatever they are trying to do. But Hollywood in general, and Warner Bros. Discovery in particular is a different story. I hope they go out of business soon. They could have made the fans happy. They could have made money making the fans happy. They, like Disney, decided they didn't need fans. OK, fine. Then this fan doesn't need them.
