They Suffered a Failure of the Victim-selection Process

I'm guessing this is not how they planned for things to turn out. Homeowner shoots, kills intruder, second suspect arrested

[Winston County Sheriff’s Office] says they learned two suspects entered the home, one of them armed with a handgun. That suspect hit one of the residents in the head with the handgun.

The sheriff’s office says the suspect then began shooting inside the home.

One of the residents then shot and killed the armed suspect according to the sheriff’s office.

The guy who wasn't shot has been arrested and has been booked into the Winston County jail on charges of Robbery 1st degree. He may face other charges. (I'm not sure if Alabama has a version of Felony Murder, where the accomplice could be charged for his friend's death.)

Since self-defense is a human-right, the homeowner has not been charged.
