And it isn't the first home that he stole from. Or tried to, anyway. Nye Co. Sheriff: Pahrump homeowner shoots intruder
Pahrump is an unincorporated part of Nye County, Nevada. It is about 60 miles from Las Vegas.
A homeowner woke up because he heard an intruder in his home. The intruder then kicked open the bedroom door.
The homeowner, who is not facing charges, then shot Richard twice.
Two shots center-mass. They had to fly the guy out to a trauma center in Las Vegas.
Deputies found Richard in possession of a shotgun that was taken the previous night during a home invasion on the 8000 block of Ralph Court.
Richard also is facing charges of grand larceny of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, the sheriff’s office said.
That is in addition to the charges of home invasion and burglary.
The guy who got shot was on parole at the time of the home invasion.
Self-defense is a human-right, and Nevada has not morphed into New Jersey. Not quite.
