Ex-NYPD Commissioner Slams NYC Mayor Adams

The Democrats don't appear to want to get crime under control. They are doing things that show they want chaos. Ex-NYPD Commish Ray Kelly slams Mayor Adams on crime

“We were the safest big city in America just a few years ago,” Kelly told host John Catsimatidis on WABC 770 AM radio’s “Cats Roundtable.”

Ray Kelly was NYC's police commissioner in the early 1990s. He then had several federal positions, including an anti-terrorist post in the Clinton administration.

Kelly took particular issue with runaway subway and bus crimes in the five boroughs, saying the deployment of transit cops has to be “re-examined” by “an outside agency.”

At some point, even in a place like NYC, if taking transit means risking life and limb, then people will stop taking transit.

As for the mayor, he is blaming the media for creating a "perception of crime." Except that there is real crime to go along with the perception.

New York City subway crime has run rampant this year, with nine subway system homicides so far and a 39% leap in violent crime in the system as of August compared to 2019, stats show.

Between the courts telling cops not to do things, the state legislature telling cops and judges not to do things (cash bail anyone?), and the mayor pretending all is well, I don't see how things are going to get much better in New York any time soon. I would get out while the getting is good.
