Or so say the shills for Amazon. If they were bending over any more to justify the bad reviews, they would break their backs. ‘Painful To Watch’: Viewers Hate ‘Lord Of The Rings: Rings Of Power,’ Which Critics Insist Is Another Example Of Racism
Because it just is not possible that a show could be bad. Never in the history of TV has there been a bad show. Or something.
The series premiered the first two episodes Thursday and currently has an 84% critic rating and 36% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The meltdowns have been more entertaining than any show I've actually bothered to watch in the past 5 years or so.
Rings of Prime is getting 1-star reviews, and so the reviewers must be Racist. The audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes is 36%, while the critics score is up around 85%. Which is why Amazon has still not let anyone review the show on the Prime Video site.
Pay no attention to the content of the reviews, which talk about atrocious dialog and the bad acting, and yet do give credit to the quality of the visuals.
Here is an example of the type of review they are "discarding" as being from bot, or a racist, or whatever.
However, the reviews tell a different story. Many of the people panning “Rings of Power” say it’s a visual masterpiece with an impressive score, but the dialogue is clunky and it’s difficult to connect with the characters. They are not angry about diversity initiatives. They just think it’s an unworthy adaptation.
“Complete disaster of a show, boring story, horrible characters (especially Galadriel), poorly written dialogs [sic], and it’s just two first episodes of the show. Above else, no respect for Tolkien and his work,” one person shared.
And the critics' score was higher before the show actually premiered, when the only people reviewing the show were the critics who depend for their livelihood on Access to stuff the studios hand out. What Gary at Nerdrotic calls The Access Media™. Once other critics could chime in, the score started to go down.
Meanwhile House of the Dragon is getting good reviews, and that show has a diverse cast. I guess that group of fans isn't racist for some reason, even when both "groups" overlap. (Critics and Audience review score are both in the mid 80s for the Game of Thrones spinoff.) I have friends with access to HBO Max, so I may have to try and see that show. I just am not enough of a fan of George R.R. Martin to make it a priority. It will be on DVD eventually.
This ought to confuse them(they, it, whatever)...
ReplyDeleteI Identify as a Person of Politically Preferred Pigmentation (I don't but it would be racist of them to question my identity)
As a PPPP, I may no longer be criticized for any criticization (just made that word up) which I may spew forth
Heh.
DeleteBut you can't expect rules of logic to apply to the woke scolds, because logic is a white-man's invention. Or something.
