The shooting occurred as [Everett] Beauregard was walking home from a SEPTA station after a night out with friends. The suspect approached Beauregard from the opposite direction on the 400 block of North 35th Street and fired several shots, police said. One of them struck the Beauregard in the neck, severing his spinal cord.
As they pass each other, the gunman turns and fires several shots into Everett's back. As he runs from the scene he fires one more shot as Everett Beauregard is already lying on the sidewalk.
The video shows what happened, but it is so grainy as to be worthless for an identification. The gunman is wearing a generic dark hooded sweatshirt, dark slacks or jeans, and a face mask, which won't help.
"Not a word was spoken between the two prior to the offender shooting Mr. Beauregard in the back," Philadelphia Police Captain Jason Smith said.
