The gun-hating part of the Left loves to go on at length about how if you own a gun, you are statistically more likely to shoot someone you know. There is a very good reason for that. Woman shot husband in self-defense, Jessup police say
Aug. 12—A Jessup woman acted in self-defense when she shot her husband in the leg early Friday morning, Police Chief Joseph Walsh said.
Police charged her husband, Eric Stepkovitch, with simple assault and harassment because police alleged he slammed Katherine Groboski to the ground and repeatedly banged her head against the floor of their home, according to a criminal complaint filed by Officer Scott Syryla.
When he was banging her head on the floor, she drew a pistol. She ended up shooting him twice in the leg.
After he got shot, the police showed up and had the paramedics take him to a hospital. (They took her as well, since she had bruises on her head and ribs from the assault.) After the doctors saw to his leg, he was arrested.
But since this is a domestic-violence case, I don't expect that the system will do much. He is only being held in jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. At least she already has a gun for defense.
Self-defense is a human-right, even it you must defend yourself from someone you know.
