She had an order of protection, but he was apparently at her home anyway. They got in an argument, so she ran next door to a neighbor's home.
The man who was shot and killed attempted to break into the neighbor's home before he was shot, officials said. He also made threats against the people inside, including his girlfriend.
The neighbor was questioned and released, because self-defense is a human right, and while Washington is a Deep Blue state, it hasn't turned into New Jersey. Good Guys 1, Bad Guys 0.
