Why am I not shocked that a Chicago politician isn't charged with a crime. Police respond to domestic complaint at Kim Foxx’s home; no arrests made
After all, a certain Pelosi wasn't charged with DUI after he crashed his car. The word you're looking for is "Clout." (At least that is the Chicago vernacular.)
Kim Foxx is the Illinois State's Attorney for Cook County (and Chicago). You can't really call her a prosecuting attorney, because she refuses to prosecute a lot of crime.
Foxx’s husband called 911 to report an altercation, and told responding officers that Foxx threw his video game controller, blocked him from leaving a bathroom and slapped his face, according to a police report released through a public-records request.
"No arrests were made." Well, if you were a cop, would you want to arrest the local DA?
Flossmoor police responded to Foxx’s home at 10:09 p.m. Saturday after her husband, Kelley, called 911 to report a domestic, according to the police report.
“While en route to the address, dispatch informed us the domestic was physical and there were no injuries ‘yet,'” an officer wrote.
Does this constitute "toxic feminism?"

In April 2020, the Chicago Tribune reported that Foxx directed her office to “all but (stop) prosecuting new domestic violence cases in Cook County.”
“Only extremely violent cases will be prosecuted in the coming days. Instead, victims will be told to file for civil emergency orders of protection and then talk to prosecutors in a couple of weeks about pursuing criminal charges against their alleged abuser,” CWB Chicago wrote.
And here I thought domestic violence was a feminist issue. My mistake.
What is it with certain types and video games? I know i'm dating myself, but I grew up playing Pac Man and Asteroids and similar at the local pizza shop or arcade. When Atari came out with the first home game system, we had one, but I just don't understand grown men playing PS5 or Xbox whatever they are, to the exclusion of everything else. Beating a child to death because the child broke the game, or tripped on the cord. I have never owned a modern game console, and they hold no interest. Too many overgrown children having children.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what this has to do with Kim Foxx - a woman - throwing something at her husband (what she threw is not the point) and getting a pass.
DeleteSo a more reasonable activity for an adult would be to wear the jersey of the local (or their favorite) sports-ball team and screaming at the television. Even if they have to pay extra to ESPN or the NBA or the NFL or baseball or whoever?
Or playing golf, or tennis to the exclusion of all else (some do). There are other hobbies that could be substituted there...
