Self-defense Is Legal in Michigan

You can never be sure today. Homeowner justified in fatal shooting of armed intruder, Kent County prosecutor says

A Kent County homeowner who traded gunfire with an intruder trying to steal his truck keys, killing the man, was justified in using deadly force, prosecutors have ruled.

Kent County Prosecutor Christopher Becker issued a ruling Tuesday, May 3 on the March 30 shooting at a Byron Township home on 108th Street just east of Wilson Avenue.

One month to make that determination is pretty good. Some DAs hold out for months hoping to charge the defender with something. (Those DAs HATE self-defense.)

Self-defense is a human-right. And it might be your right in Michigan.
