Clare officers had been dispatched to the home invasion in progress on McEwan Street and heard gunshots from the residence upon arrival.
“Initial investigation revealed that the homeowner fired a weapon at the intruder causing fatal injuries,” police said. “Neither the homeowner nor the officers were injured.”
The investigation continues, but self-defense is a human-right.
I'm a bit tired of the investigation continues. Why does it continue? The evidence is sufficient.
ReplyDeleteCops don't make decisions about who gets charged, and who gets a pass. All the cop-shows since the 1960s notwithstanding.
DeleteDAs make those determinations, and the cops say "The investigation continues" to say that they haven't turned all their paperwork over to the DA.
In some states the DA makes the call. In other states all homicides get referred to a grand jury. And in some states the DA holds on for as long as they can, because they hate self-defense.
