I really love the band The Pretty Reckless. Taylor Momsen's voice is great, and the musicianship of the entire band is top notch. The rest of the band is made up of Ben Phillips playing lead guitar and providing backing vocals, Mark Damon on bass, and Jamie Perkins playing drums and percussion.
The songwriting also results in real songs. Real musicians playing real instruments, making real music in the 21st Century, and a singer whose voice hasn't been scrubbed out of existence with AutoTune. Who would have thought that was possible?
This is "Death By Rock And Roll (iHeart Radio Acoustic Performance)" by The Pretty Reckless. It came out about six months before they released the album - that was not an acoustic version. This version apparently topped Billboard's charts in 2020 after it was released.
You can find the album version of the song at this link from Metal for Mondays from April of last year.
And yes, this is as close as I can come to a post for the end of Tax Season. Death and Taxes.
