Relatives of Dead People Don't Like Self-defense

Oh, and self-defense is still legal in Texas. Jury acquits murder defendant in Woodlands firefighter’s shooting death case.

Montgomery County, Texas is just north of Houston; it is probably close enough in to be considered suburbia, though I am not familiar with that part of Texas.

He broke into the man's home, where his children were, and assaulted him. He was genuinely in fear of death or grave bodily injury.

It took the jury 7 hours to return a verdict of not guilty.

As for the family of the guy who got shot...

The verdict came as a shock to Daniel’s family, said his 21-year-old daughter Alaina Daniel.

“He murdered my dad, whether they acquitted him or not,” she said.

Ah, no. That is what acquitted means. Homicide can be justified, as it was in this case. Or, "Not all homicides are murders."

Self-defense is a human-right.
