Because Keeping Violent Offenders in Jail Is Unfair

Bail reform is very popular with the Left. Not so popular with the victims of the criminals let out. Man who allegedly shot girl was out on bond in gang assault case

The man busted in the New Year’s Eve shooting of a 14-year-old girl in Harlem was at the time out on bond in a gang assault case, Manhattan prosecutors said Wednesday.

Christopher Fuhrtz, 33, allegedly fired the gun — blasting the teenager in the right leg — as part of a bizarre bid to stop a fight between his girlfriend and the young victim’s mother

I know "innocent until proved guilty," but when are people viewed as a danger to community?

He was on parole in December of 2020 when he allegedly kicked someone in the head and pulled a knife. Then this past New Years Eve...

His girlfriend got into a fight with another woman, so his first reaction is apparently to open fire.

The scuffle spilled out into the courtyard, drawing a crowd, and the woman’s 14-year-old daughter and her friend arrived “to help break up the fight,” Strickland said.

Fuhrtz was allegedly “shooting in the direction” of the women when the teen was wounded, she said

Since he didn't actually manage to kill someone - he is only charged with Attempted murder - I believe that they will turn him loose again. Not until he kills someone will they even think about protecting the community.

Besides, keeping violent criminals in jail is unfair.
