Another Chicago Politician Convicted

The real newsworthy bit of this story is that he is a member of the Daley family. Jury convicts Ald. Patrick Daley Thompson of tax crimes and fraudulent statements.

A grandson and nephew of Chicago's two longest-serving mayors was convicted Monday of tax crimes and making false statements.

Patrick Daley Thompson, a member of the city council, must immediately resign under state law.

Richard J. Daley was his grandfather, and Richard M. Daley is his uncle. Each was mayor of Chicago for more than 20 years.

As for the very long list of politicians caught with their hand in the metaphorical cookie jar, see the following link: The History of Corruption in Chicago.
