Bayou Renaissance Man brings us Sunday morning music.
Steve Morse has been the lead guitarist with British rock group Deep Purple since 1994, taking the place of the legendary Ritchie Blackmore. He's equally accomplished as a guitarist, and in some ways I think has surpassed his famous predecessor.
There are 4 instumental pieces from Steve Morse that highlight his ability. "Air on a 6 String" from the 2005 album Prime Cuts, "Ghost of the Bayou" from the 2009 album Prime Cuts 2, "Freedom" from the 2016 album The Sessions, and "Baroque 'N Dreams" from the 2009 album Out Standing In Their Field.
The first sounds like classical guitar, the 2nd has a bit of bluegrass going on, the 3rd is sort of a Rock Ballad with a guitar solo, execpt it is all guitar solo, and the 4th song is in fact Baroque. It is about 20 minutes of music, so you should plan accordingly before you click thru and enjoy.
There is also a selection from Deep Purple, "When A Blind Man Cries" recorded live in Montreux in 1996.
