An epic failure of the victim-selection process. Armed citizen shoots and kills one of two robbery suspects at Church's Chicken
Port Arthur Police say two suspects with handguns were robbing the Church’s Chicken in the 1800 block of Jefferson Drive at about 8:45 p.m. Friday when an armed citizen intervened and several shots were fired.
Both suspects were struck and fled the scene. Police say one died at a hospital. The other was located at Normandy Apartments and was being treated in the ER.
I think it is pretty certain that in various parts of this country, Texas being one of those places, you can pretty much count on the fact that there are armed civilians in every crowd. It doesn't seem to make much of an impact on the bad guys, before they are subject to an impact with hot, fast-moving lead, that is.
