Waken Open Air is one of the largest Heavy Metal music festivals in the world. It is held in August in the village of Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It was canceled in 2020 and 2021. The 2022 festival is already sold-out in case you were thinking of attending.
Nightwish participated in 2013. It was the first time that Nightwish appeared at Waken with Floor Jansen as lead singer. She had joined the Imaginaerum World Tour in October of 2012.
