So How's That Affordable Bail Working Out?

The powers-that-be are SURE it is NOT contributing to crime. Or something. Man’s charged with driving 2 hijacked cars in 2 months — while on felony bond and on parole for multiple felonies

A man who was only charged with a misdemeanor when cops allegedly caught him driving a carjacked vehicle in August is back in custody after police allegedly caught him driving another hijacked car in the Gold Coast over the weekend.

So how is carjacking a misdemeanor? You would have to ask Kim Foxx & Co. (better know as the State's Attorney for Cook County and her merry band of non-prosecutors) how that works.

He was arrested on August 6th driving another carjacked car. And there is more.

He also has a pending felony narcotics case stemming from an arrest in May — less than a month after he was paroled for multiple felonies, including heroin distribution, according to state records. Prosecutors, who charged Jones with manufacture-delivery and felony possession of a controlled substance during a May 14 bond hearing, said Jones sold heroin to an undercover cop and also had heroin in his possession when officers arrested him.

None of that was enough to keep him off the streets.

At least he hasn't killed anyone as far as we know.

He didn't get "recognizance bond" this time. Bail of $50,000 and electronic monitoring if he gets out. That's better than the last time, when they gave him a stern talking to and turned him loose.

With no consequences, but a stern talking to, what do you think he will do next? And the state has not tried to revoke his parole.
