A report containing the preliminary results from the 2021 National Firearms Survey obtained by the Wall Street Journal indicates that for the first time, women are purchasing guns at a rate similar to men. The study, conducted by researchers from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Northeastern University, found that about 3.5 million women and 4 million men became first-time gun owners between January 2019 and April 2021.
And it isn't just women.
Of first-time gun owners, over 40% are black or Latino, and over a quarter of the new female gun owners are black.

I would be interested to know the geographical/neighborhood distribution of the people buying firearms. I'd guess that people are "gunning up" for the great urban population exchange.
ReplyDeleteThe urban centers are doomed relics of 19th Century transportation (trains) and communication (wires for telegraph and, later, telephone). Traditionally, the urban areas provided a holding area for the new immigrants while they adapted and acclimated. Then they moved to the surround. The urban African American immigrants from the South, haven't "learned", haven't acclimated, and no body wants them. The coming "eviction" to make room for the new arrivals is going to be "interesting". The theme is "Racism" and "White Supremacy". Don't be fooled. The Corruptocrats and property owners just want a functional population to generate profit and the "pols" want a source of grift and power. No one works or shops "downtown" now. The jobs, people and support businesses have moved to the surround. The urban ground has to be cleared for the new, likely to be useful, Illegal immigrant population.
It will be "interesting" to see who is going to do what.
