During a shift change, a man with a Glock semi-automatic pistol entered the building and began shooting, Metro Nashville Police Department spokesman Don Aaron told reporters during a news conference Tuesday morning.

Antonio D. King, 22, worked at the warehouse. The article says motive is a mystery, which I take to mean that he was still employed. He was scheduled to begin his shift. I suppose he could have had a disagreement with someone. But this is an extreme reaction to that. (Actually it would be an extreme reaction to being fired, but it would be an explanation.)

When police arrived minutes after the shooting call, they saw a man matching the shooter's description at the nearby intersection of Antioch Pike and Franklin Limestone Road with a gun.

They asked the man to drop the gun, Aaron said, but he pointed it at the officers instead.

If you point a gun at police, you should expect to get shot.

Cops rendered first aid, but he died a short time later at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The Tenessee Bureau of Investigation will do the investigating, because of the shooting by police.

While the video below captures what happened at the end of the incident, after Mr. King left the facility and was confronted by police, the article has interviews with people who were in the building when the shooting started.

There is bodycam video and security video that has been released by Nashville PD. Some of it shows fairly poor training on the part of Nashville police, as one Nashville officer appears to be ready to shoot her colleagues in the back. Though if you watch police videos you will see a lot of potentially dangerous crossfire issues. I suppose it is the tunnel vision from adrenaline.
