In the San Francisco Bay Area, a fairly deep blue part of California. Alleged Pleasant Hill intruder fatally shot by resident
A guy was trying to break into a couple of homes, and acting "erratically." He eventually did break into one home. It was a bad idea for him to do so.
Police said the man who opened fire used a legally-owned 9-millimeter handgun and at this time would likely not face any criminal charges pending a review of the case by the Contra Costa County DA's office.
He was shot in the torso and the head. Cops arrived and had him taken to a local hospital where he died.
Self-defense is legal in California, though the DAs hate that. And the media has started to notice that self-defense is a thing.
The Pleasant Hill intruder-shooting is the Bay Area's third since early July.
Self-defense is a human-right.
