Unless of course that woman is making accusations against a Democratic politician that you really, really like. Then you should try to destroy her credibility. In this case, the politico is Cuomo.
First up, Melissa DeRosa. Governor Cuomo’s top aide, Melissa DeRosa, resigns.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s longtime secretary and confidante, Melissa DeRosa — depicted as the governor’s enabler and enforcer in covering up his sexual abuses in the state attorney general’s probe — resigned from her post Sunday evening.
And then there is Roberta Kaplan. Time’s Up boss Roberta Kaplan resigns after alleged efforts to discredit Cuomo victim.
Prominent US attorney and chairwoman of the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund, Roberta Kaplan, has resigned from the organization amid criticism of her ties to Gov. Andrew Cuomo and her alleged efforts to discredit one of his accusers.
And of course... Alphonso David, though he hasn't resigned from HRC yet, and his contract was renewed for 5 years. HRC Launches Probe of Alphonso David's Work for Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Human Rights Campaign and Human Rights Campaign Foundation President Alphonso David's inclusion in the New York State Attorney General’s report on the investigation of Governor Andrew Cuomo is very concerning. Over the past several days, HRC’s employees, supporters, board members and partners have raised questions about the appropriateness of Alphonso David’s actions and whether they align with HRC’s decades’ long mission of fighting for equality and justice for all.
It's good to be popular with the Democratic base. The NY Attorney General, though she acknowledges misdoing is not going to prosecute Cuomo. Who would that help? Not her.
