I've mentioned before that 1991 was a good year for music. Metallica released their 5th album Metallica, which is usually called The Black Album. Soundgarden released their 3rd album, Badmotorfinger. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers released Into the Great Wide Open. REM released the album Out Of Time. U2 released Achtung Baby. And then there was the album that includes today's song.
This song has people playing real instruments. I will never understand why the suits and their tiny minds are opposed to songwriting. You will never see a song like this with the current group of suits in charge of Popular Music. It doesn't fit the formula.
This song is "Under the Bridge" by The Red Hot Chili Peppers from the 1991 album Blood Sugar Sex Magik. This is probably the song that catapulted the Chili Peppers into their massive success. "Under the Bridge" hit number 2 on the Billboard chart.
