Not to well if you are one of the victims. #19: Second man charged with killing 7-year-old at McDonald’s was on 4 felony bonds, including robbery and gun cases. He was out on bail because keeping violent offenders in jail is unfair. Or something.
CWB Chicago is keeping track of the people who have been charged with murder, attempted murder, or shooting someone while on affordable bail for a felony in and around Chicago. Or maybe just in Chicago.
A Cook County judge on Friday ordered a second man held without bail in connection with the fatal shooting of 7-year-old Jaslyn Adams at a McDonald’s drive-thru on April 18. Like the first man prosecutors charged, Demond Goudy was awaiting trial in multiple felony cases at the time of the alleged murder, including robbery and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Are people ready to back away from letting violent criminals back on the street? I doubt it, since that would be too much like "tough on crime."
