How Is That "Affordable Bail" Working Out?

Not so well it would seem. #8: “Highly active” gang member charged with killing rival over haircut — while on affordable bail

A Chicago man shot and killed a 16-year-old rival gang member over a haircut last week while on affordable bail for discharging a handgun, prosecutors said.

This makes eight victims in Chicago in 2021.

The dead guy had a haircut that the shooter didn't like. It apparently indicated membership in a rival gang.

Rodriguez allegedly pulled out a gun and followed the man downstairs, where he began to question Castillo about his gang affiliation. When Castillo said he was Two Six, Rodriguez began punching him in the face repeatedly while yelling that he hats Two Six because one of its members killed his friend, Eggleston continued.

Castillo ran from the home, and Moro allegedly chased after him for over a block before Moro shot him repeatedly, and Castillo fell to the ground. The shooting was allegedly captured on surveillance video.

I'm sure that all these problems will disappear when the entire idea of cash-bail is eliminated in Illinois. Is that in 2022, or 2023?

Moro is now held without bail.

According to the Left, cash bail is unfair. So how unfair is it to the 8 dead people in Chicago? Thanks to CWB Chicago, we have this data, but only for Chicago. It is sad that the rest of the journalism profession can't be bothered to worry about little things that might in any way contradict the positions of the Left.
