And is probably unconstitutional. Sometimes you have to try something
Because actually throwing bad-guys in jail is such a 19th Century idea.
So there is an Illinois representative that wants to outlaw the video game Grand Theft Auto to fight carjacking in Chicago. The science says that won't have an impact (Follow the Science!) but "broken windows" is unfair. And mean.
And this "journalist" seems fine with the idea of dumping the Constitution to try random things in the hope that one of them will be as good as "holding people accountable."
Keeping kids away from Grand Theft Auto is more doable, and certainly a sign that society doesn’t think this kind of thing is fun. Maybe it’s a broken windows situation: fix the small stuff and the big stuff follows.
But of course they are not talking about "keeping kids away" but "banning completely." And it also isn't "broken windows." That would be punishing people for infractions, however small. But that would be mean. And it would sound like "tough on crime" which The Left HATES!
According to this "journalist" carjacking is about "jobs and systemic racism" and has nothing to do with morals, or teaching kids the difference between right and wrong. There is no right and wrong. There is no good or evil, not according The Left.
