Four more rideshare drivers were carjacked Wednesday after picking up passengers and delivering them to destinations across Chicago, police said. Now, CPD is again warning about hijackers who are luring Uber and Lyft drivers into armed robberies via the companies’ apps.
Why not? As I mentioned earlier, this is what happens when there are no consequences for bad behavior. Namely, you get more bad behavior.
As for Uber and Lyft, they would rather see a dead driver than a stopped criminal act. No thanks to those 2 companies that we haven't seen too much of that yet.
Neither Lyft nor Uber has responded to multiple inquiries from CWBChicago seeking comments about the crime pattern and what their drivers can do to keep themselves safe.
Hey, but at least Illinois got rid of cash bail! That should fix things.
