I Guess LSD Is Making a Comeback in California

LSD molecule

I suppose they will push to legalize that as well. YouTube engineer pleads no contest in LSD-fueled rampage in Bodega Bay - SFChronicle.com

Bodega Bay is coastal city in California, about a one and a half hour's drive north of San Francisco.

Koffi had rented a house in a Bodega Bay golf community in the 500 block of Swan Drive last year. Around noon, he took two tabs of LSD with five friends, started acting strange and swallowed two more tabs, police said. His friends tried to stop him from leaving the house that night and he went berserk, punching a woman twice, stabbing a man with a pencil, choking another friend and punching yet another in the face, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said at the time.

He attacked a security guard, who was patrolling the neighborhood, stole the security company's vehicle, hit 2 pedestrians, crashed, and tried to drive at police, before they shot him 3 times. He is now partially paralyzed.

Somehow I'm not surprised that people from YouTube are doing acid. And what does it mean to be an "engineer" working at YouTube? A software developer? Or is everyone an engineer of some sort? Can't have those pesky legal licenses, or hard college majors, doing stuff to make people feel bad.

Who would have thought that the Acid Test would make a comeback? Everything old is new again. I suppose next everyone will be quoting Carlos Castañeda's writing, or traveling around in psychedelic-painted buses. It's been a long time since I read Wolfe's The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test.

As for the legalization of LSD, Big Pharma, in the instance of Silo Pharma, Inc. has announced a study in The Netherlands that will use LSD and Psilocybin (magic mushrooms) in the treatment of Parkinson's Disease. "Only for medicinal use."
