Quote of the Day

And it isn't even in French. Le Mot Juste : The Other McCain

In a screed about the Ivy League, and a modest review of Hillbilly Elegy, we get the following dig at the Ivy crowd and their ridiculous sense of superiority.

Academic excellence is not the only standard of merit; Jeffrey Toobin went to Harvard and look what scum he proved to be.

  1. There is much on the pretentious nature of the rich who attend the Ivy League.

I ran into more than my fair share of them, though I wasn't technically at an I.L. school.

They could get a bit disturbed that a kid from nowhere was tutoring them on the ins and outs of Plato's Republic. The only group that wasn't too bad were the ones who had been planning to be doctors until they encountered first year organic chemistry.

  2. We've known for a very long time that Harvard is Satan's Vatican. Yale, sadly, has joined the club, along with the preposterous "Duke," so-called "Brown," and all the others.

But who am I to scoff? Oxford's turned into a rubbish rainbow utopia too. Useless, to say nothing of pronouns when gunfire fills the Broad.
